Telaire 7001 Carbon Dioxide Monitor
CO2 and Temperature Monitor
The hand held Telaire 7001 Monitor measures Carbon Dioxide and Temperature. The monitor provides stable,
highly accurate readings with its patented dual beam
NDIR technology. The CO2 Monitor features a 0-4 Volt output, large LCD display with push button interface,
quick adjustments for altitude correction, simple toggling between °C and °F temperature readings and runs for 70+ hours
on four AA alkaline batteries or continuously with the
supplied power adapter. The sensor has a CO2 range suitable
for virtually any building (0-10,000 ppm). Click here
for more on monitoring building air.
The CO2 Monitor is also available with a Data Logger as a Kit.

Using the Telaire 7001 with a Data Logger
The Telaire 7001 Carbon Dioxide Monitor also can be
connected to a data logger with an external input to measure and record
carbon dioxide levels. An interface cable (#CABLE-CO2) connects
the Telaire 7001 to the HOBO data logger's external input.
The Data loggers are sold
separately.
Data Logging Notes: A HOBO data
logger can be used with the Telaire 7001 to log CO2 levels
over the range of 0 to 2500 ppm with 10 ppm resolution.
The HOBOware Lite software will display the data as voltage
readings from 0 to 2.5 volts, with every 0.001 volt corresponding
to 1 ppm. The Telaire 7001 can actually measure and display
values up to 10,000 ppm, but any value greater than 2500
ppm will output a voltage over the HOBO's 2.5 volt input
range. This will cause all channels to measure incorrectly
until the value drops back below 2500 ppm.
What is a good CO2 level?
There is no single 'good' CO2 level. CO2 is not directly harmful unless concentrations get
very high (i.e. above 15,000 ppm). An appropriate indoor CO2 level is determined
based on the ventilation requirements established by ASHRAE and the outside CO2 levels.
It is the difference of these two values which correlates to the ventilation rate. Take for
example an indoor level of 1100 ppm (measured while occupancy is steady). Assuming an outside
level of 400 ppm the difference between indoor and outdoor levels is 700 ppm. This equates to
15 cfm per person. For more information on this conversion or additional
examples use the Telaire Ventilation calculator (comes with the Telaire 7001).
